We provide award-winning and highly successful solutions within the areas of food and nutrition services, environmental services and Institutional laundry services as well as facility maintenance.nnJob SummarynThe Culinary Manager (In Training) assists the director of food and nutrition services to direct the entire food and nutrition services department and reports directly to the director of food and nutrition services. The culinary manager is responsible for back and front of the house operations for the food service department. Must have basic knowledge and experience in food purchasing, preparation, production control, inventory control, safety, sanitation, equipment, food safety, menus, and therapeutic diets, facility policies and procedures related to the food service department and must work well under the direction of the director of food and nutrition services. nnKey ResponsibilitiesnnnCompletes duties as assigned by the director of food and nutrition services. This includes supervising cooks, dietary aides, and all other food service staff. It may also include filling in or assisting staff to complete assigned tasks.nnnParticipates in employee meetings and training programsnnnConducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance auditsnnnMaintains food cost while ensuring quality standardsnnnManages purchasing and inventory controlsnnnPerforms related duties and special projects as assignednnnAssist in the coordination of the culinary services and activities with other related departments.nnnProcess diet changes and new diets as received from nursing servicesnnnAssist in the review of complaints and grievances and make written reports to the director of food and nutritionnnnAssist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the staff, its programs, and activities.nnnAssist in performing administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, etc.nnnKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesnA potential candidate would meet the following criteria:nnAbility to work independently and under direct supervision.nnnPossess skills in cooking techniques, food service, food safety and sanitation skills.nnnPossess a working knowledge of the importance of the various therapeutic and consistency altered diets and their preparation. nnnStrong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.nnnProficient computer skills nnnGood oral and written communication skills.nnnBasic knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations as applicable related to food, sanitation, food safety, food service, et.nnnGood organization skills and ability to work under pressure.nnnExcellent time management skills.nnnAbility to direct staff and address member concerns.nnnAbility to work for long periods of time with a hands on approach.nnnStrong customer service skills.nnnA strong desire to contribute in a meaningful way to the team. nnRequired Qualifications:nnHigh school diplomannnMust have experience and knowledge in food service, basic nutrition, cooking, therapeutic and consistency altered diets.nnnProficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, and communications via email)nnnAvailability to work all shifts, sometimes on short notice. This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. nnnCooking, food safety, and sanitation skills.nnnServSafeu00ae certifiednnnMinimum one year experience as a manager or supervisor in a food service environment.nnnMinimum of three years of kitchen experience.nnNot Required but Preferred Qualifications:nnMinimum one year experience as a manager or cook in a long-term care environment.nnnCulinary degree or associate degree in food service, food service management, hospitality, or related field.nnnIn compliance with CMS regulations, COVID-19 vaccination, is required for employment.
